Feeding your baby

Responsive feeding is when a parent responds to their baby’s feeding cues as well as their own want to feed their baby. For example, you are going to an appointment and want to make sure your baby isn’t hungry whilst you’re busy.

Responsive feeding isn’t just for nutrition, it’s also building a relationship with your baby. Your baby feeds for love, comfort and reassurance. Babies will go through different patterns of feeding as they grow. Letting them feed when they need to will ensure they are getting the milk they need, when they need it.
