Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act gives a general right of access to information held by public authorities.

It is our duty to say whether or not we hold information requested and to provide it, subject to exemptions. Some of these exemptions require us to carry out a public interest test to determine whether or not the information should be disclosed.

We and our partners have a Publication Schemes which sets out the “classes” of information we hold and how and when we publish that information.
